Yesterday the front left tire of my MK7 Golf got these 4 bumps on the sidewall. This happened due to the wonderful conditions of roads we have in Mexico and also because of the heavy rain that has gone through town. Miserable Pavement+Rain=The woeful traces of crap concrete they call "roads" in my city. My guess is that I fell into a pothole while cornering, or that the tire got bumped in the dirt roads around the sketchiest animal center you can think of when I was picking up my girlfriend. This roads also show why my car looks like it has gone off-road more than every G-Wagen sold from 2004 to now.

Either way, I think that 4 bumps is way too much and the tire could come faulty form the factory. I can guarantee I have treated my car the most care you can think of, and I wont let it down. My father and I will go to the Pirelli distributor to see if we can at least have a warranty or some sort of discount because this tire is practically useless. Also, my car is dirty as hell and I hate it.

The Tires Are Pirelli Cinturato P7 All-Season if anyone's interested.

Make sure you wash your car before you show it to any person who might give you a replacement.

Because I know if I went to the dealer in my dirt covered car, they'd think I was just offroading the shit out of it and mistreating the tires.

I dunno whats more shocking, that the roads where you live are that bad, or that VW puts Pirellis on standard Golfs.

Thats a very good tip, but it isn't as muddy as it looks. Also, pretty much every car here is dirty so its the norm.

Haha, I was surprised when I saw a new 3 series with the same tires. Then though, hell this is going to be expensive to replace.

Oh, and the road where I went to pick up my girlfriend. Google street view doesn't even go there.

Did you use your stock tires when you did RallyX?

Should have bought a 4x4! That way no expensive Pirellis and more than an inch of tire sidewall.

I was considering buying this instead of the Golf.

Kinja'd!!!

Its a Brazilian made 1.6l 5 speed manual raised hatch with a tire on the back. I like its utilitarianness, and honestly, it makes a lot more sense than the Golf in the roads I drive in. But I got carried away with performance over cheeky ruggedness.

buy two, keep one as a full sized spare. Put the fresh ones on the front, and let them wear down. Perfectly fine to do that.

Thats a good plan. If I can get them for free due to warranty or a very low price I might jump into the opportunity.

My Versa only has 800 miles on it and its had 2 slow leak flat tires due to rocks, so I feel your pain.

I still hold the record here, I got 2 bubbles in 2 tires only 4 days into ownership of my new off the lot car. Talk about fuck my life.

At least its not security torx, those things are annoying and the Drivers to get them out are ridiculously expensive
